Please find the software spec of your NAS, Wake on LAN is listed under Power Management. In this case you would have to power your NAS on again manually and then shut it down manually. Note : If the power connection is physically removed or there is an unexpected power failure when the NAS is turned off, Wake on LAN will not function whether or not the power supply has been reconnected or the power came back before trying to wake it up. On Mac, select a NAS from the list first and then click Tools to execute the same commands. In Windows, right click your device in the list and select Sleep, Restart Device or Shut Down Device. Press the Wake Up button and wait for your NAS to start up Here you can find your device(s) by name or you can also input their MAC addresses. You can now press the power button to bring up Remote Wake Up and send a “magic packet” to your NAS and make it wake up. If the printer is in sleep mode, pressing 'Go' button wakes up the printer to Ready mode. Launch QFinder and let it find your NAS automatically, or you may also add it manually This is a very important step as it won’t be possible to wake your NAS up without it.Īlso here, make sure that Wake-on-LAN (WOL) is set to Enableĭownload and install QFinder Pro for your selected operating system On your NAS, please go to Control Panel > System > Power and make sure EuP Mode Configuratio n is set to Disabled (this is the default setting). We recommend setting a fixed IP for your NAS Your computer and NAS has to be in the same LAN for this feature to work properly Guideline for Choosing and Upgrading NAS.Video Surveillance Device Management System.Configure network settings (QNE Network).Configure network settings (QTS & QuTS hero). With Linux and ZFS, QuTS hero supports advanced data reduction technologies for further driving down costs and increasing reliablility of SSD (all-flash) storage. QuTS hero is the operating system for high-end and enterprise QNAP NAS models. WIth Linux and ext4, QTS enables reliable storage for everyone with versatile value-added features and apps, such as snapshots, Plex media servers, and easy access of your personal cloud. Now with wireless bridge it might be possible, since the bridge maintains the connection to the wireless network - and sure could pass the WOL info down its wire to the laptop connected by a wire to the bridge.QTS is the operating system for entry- and mid-level QNAP NAS. I don't see how this could be done over wireless. In a wired network - even the machine is off/standby, the nic can still have enough power to it so that its listening for the packet sent to it mac. It would have to be some proprietary type of setup where the wireless card itself was able to maintain the connection not related to the OS - so it could listen for the magic packet. How is card going to be connected to the wireless network when the OS is off? Since your OS is off or in standby - even if the card still had power to receive packets over the wireless connection - since the OS handles the actual connection to the wireless network, ie your security, etc. Wireless WOL is going to be rare - For this to work the wireless device would have to actually be connected to the wireless network and running when the laptop is in standby, hibernated or even off.
